Hong Kong trip~~Loooveeely~~!

20/01/2010---Wednesday

Huhu...today's going to be the day,my first time to a foreign country. Damn excited. Woke up at 6.30am. Bathed, cleaned myself and got myself ready.Wear nice and ate breakfast. Aunt Kat was a good host. Since early in the morning she got up and made breakfast for us. We really felt bad because she also slept late last night. Waking up so early just to make breakfast for us and send us out. So, after all of us( me, jie and mum) got ready,we carried our luggage down and waited for the taxi. Oh yeah. Forgotten to tell your all bout Sporean taxis. The taxis in Spore are all of nice and good cars. You can hardly see a "lao beh chia" or to be more specific, there is no "lao beh chia" there de. So good. The cabs there are so advance. You can see almost every cab has a GPS system in their car. Good service especially. So,a taxi arrived and the cab aunty help us carry our luggages into the boot and drove us to Changi airport. Our flight is around 8am. I can't remember the exact time d.Sorry.We checked on the board to see the plane we're boarding and the time of departure. Our plane is Cathay Pacific, CX 736,if I'm not mistaken. So, we "tour" around Changi airport after we got our luggages check-in. We are asked to check in 15 minutes before the flight. We first had a light breakfast, a kaya toast and milo. Then, we looked around the shops in the airport. When it was almost time of departure, we went to get our passport done. As soon as we are about to enter the flight, we have to uhm...had our body checked, means the officers there will monitor your body to see if your carrying dangerous weapons and explosives. Lol. I have to make sure there is no single metal on my body. Mind you, be it necklace, watch, ring or handphone, you have to take it off. It's like that. So, after they checked my body, we went down to enter our plane. Wow. This is my first time on a plane. Mixed feelings. I'm scared but joy and excitement eventually overcome my fearness. Sigh. I don't get to sit near the windows:( How I wish I can looked down at the scenery as we flew off. So, when we are on the plane, we were asked to switch off our handphones and ipods by the crew assistant. The stewardess there are pretty, young, elegant and friendly. We were given headphones because the back of the seats had a small screen where we can actually watch movies and listened to songs. Not only that, we can also play with the games there. Haha. But before we can enjoy the entertainment, we have to wait about 30minutes after the plane started to land off. We are given instruction on life safety and so on on the screen. We tightened our seat belts and then the plane started to fly. The feeling was great! I don't feel any fear at all! Haha. Instead, I was always kept trying to look out into the windows but it's rather hard as my seat was far from it:(

Then, after the remote control can be used, haha..the first thing I did is...played game. Lolz. I played the Honey Bee where I'm a bee,and I have to collect nectar from flowers but I have to watch out for the frogs, birds and fishes. Sigh. I "died" two time in the game that I got so bored. Then I switched another game which is quite okay. After playing the game, I go for songs and music. I was shocked that the songs there are so updated. Many new songs and many many many songs of all ranges. There was even Korean,Japan,Taiwan,English, oldies and so on...I first clicked to Taylor Swift's songs and listen to the songs. Then I was actually stunned yet excited to found F4 special edition songs there. This plane was so good, I was telling myself. I've never expect this type of entertainment in a plane. As I saw that album, I immediately clicked the button "F4 special edition" and listened to all the songs while my sister is watching "500 days with Summer". It was a romance show, very nice. The girl was pretty. But I don't really know what's the story about nor how's the story goes as I was listening to my music with my headphone and my sis watching it with her headphone too. I just looked at the pictures nia because every seat has a place for the headphone plug and you can actually listen to it with your own headphones. After that, we reached Hong Kong about 1something in the afternoon. We then checked on the board where to take our luggages and where we should settle with our passport stuff as we have to cop our passports. So, we went up the escalator and go to Belt 11. Wow. I could actually see many Japanese, Koreans and Mainland China comes to Hong Kong by looking at their passports. We got our passport "copped" and went to take back our luggages. Jie then phoned the agent which will pick us up. We were asked to wait at the tourist picking up area where she will come and meet us. There we befriended with a lady with her son. She said that she's from Spore too and her son wanted to come here just to buy clothes, branded clothes. My sis was thinking, wah...come all the way from Spore to HK just to buy clothes? Haha. Sporeans are all so rich wan...Jie then talked to the agent about the Disneyland trip that we will be following as the other days we wanna walk on our own. The agent told us that the Disneyland tour would be on the third day, which is 22nd January. After that we (me,mum, sis and the lady with her son) followed the agent where we were brought to our hotels via bus. On the way, I looked around Hong Kong. I really loved the scenery at there, the sea, the trees and the weather since it was quite cold and not so hot like Msia. But, I like Msia too for its scenery too. I just love whatever which attracts me and is lovely. It was funny but I video up during our way to our hotel. The Sporean lady stayed at Holiday Inn which is such a huge hotel. We stayed at Kimberly Hotel which is located at Kowloon. Our hotel is also big. One of the bellman is quite cute and good looking.HEhehe.We stayed at the 10th floor, the first room. So our room number is 1001. Easy rite? We then rested awhile because all of us was so tired. Then around 6.30pm,we showered and got ourselves ready. Oh yeah by the way, the hotel service was so good!~ They even provided us with bath salt..Huhuhu...~~~~ and also moisturiser, soap, and so on. I always used the bath salt when I showered. The bath salt smells so nice~~~ Then we went down and hunt for food. Hehe. We are strangers at this place. We don't even know where to go nor where to eat. But we just simply walked and walked till we found a restaurant. But of course, we have to recognise the place so that we won't got lost.Means we must know where we come from and how to get back to our hotel.First day was quite tough because my brain hardly works. I can hardly remember the places. It just won't cooperate with me.Sigh. Then, we found a noodle restaurant and went in just to try the food there. I ordered for wan tan mee with taiwan dumplings.Sis ordered wan tan mee with shrimp dumplings.Mum ordered rice in soup which I can't really remember the name of the food but there were dumplings in it as well too. When the food arrived, I was like..."WoW~! Such a big bowl..Could I finished it?"

The noodles was so much but yet I still forced myself to finish it so that it won't waste because Mum looked so sick that she can hardly eat. Since mum was sick, we have to cancel all our programme for today. So, after our dinner we went back to our hotel and had a good rest. But then, sis said she wanna go to Guardian to buy something. So, we actually went out, leaving mum to rest and looked for Guardian shop. In Hong Kong, Guardian isn't named Guardian, instead it was named Mannings. Then after buying our things, on our way back, we saw a dessert shop and the desserts there attracted me. So, I bought the black glutinous rice with glutinous balls for 22HK dollar a BIG cup. Then we went back to our hotel. Mum still not yet sleep. She took panadols after her dinner earlier actually. We thought she had slept but she has yet to sleep. So, sis switched on the TV and we pressed the remote till we saw a HK drama. It was a new drama and very nice.It was shown on Astro on Demand now if I'm not mistaken because it was a HK channel,TVB. We watched the drama while I ate my dessert. It was so so so delicious that sis also liked it that she wants to buy again. As we were watching the drama, sis discussed with me about our plan for tomorrow. After the drama finished,we terus slept till the next morning.

*Oh yeah, btw, in Hong Kong, it's only 6pm but the sky was so dark as if it was like 8pm in Msia.Lol.*

21/01/2010---Thursday

I was awake in 3am in the morning. I had a bad dream. It was so scary. I'm not sure why am I dreaming about terrorists all of sudden. I can still remember how the victim,a guy related his story about how he was being torchered by the terrorists. He then showed his bandage on his left eye and it was as if his whole left eye almost dropped off. I was so terrified that I woke up,panting and sweated all over though our room was so cold. Then I tried to comfort myself and tried to get myself back to sleep. Then, all of us woke up at 6.30am. I first went to shower.Hehe.Again I used the bath salt while shower. I remembered my dream while shower and it spooks my spine up. But I tried to shook it off, trying to not to worry so much. Continue to shower then wear nice, getting myself ready to start our journey, our self-tour. After all of us got ready,we went down for breakfast. Actually, there''s a famous restaurant just opposite our hotel but we did not noticed it yesterday night. Haha. So, our breakfast was in Yuen Kee Restaurant which is just opposite Kimberly hotel. The food there was nice and delicious too.You can actually expect many tourists coming to this restaurant as well.:) The wan tan mee in Hong Kong is the best. It was really delicious. I love the shrimp dumplings:) Yummy yummy. The shrimps are fresh and delicious. Sigh. But it comes with a big bowl. I can tell you eating in Hong Kong can actually let you endure hunger. Just eating a bowl of noodles in the morning, you can endure till night. Haha. I mean for a small eater like me lar...Then we went to Kowloon Park first by following the routes provided by the map. It was my first time studying a map. So, my first time using it was really difficult.Because it was my sister holding the map, so I find it quite hard to learn and help her because she also don't know Hong Kong. So, all the way we just go using the map. I have to endure it when my sis said I'm not independent. I actually wanted to be independent, but does my father allow me to? I don't even get to go out, how can I learn it? I'm also trying my best to be independent. All my expenses and books, I used my own money. This already proved that I'm quite independent although I'm not fully independent. Teach me and I'll learn it. As we reached Kowloon Park, we took photos and enjoyed the sceneries there. The flowers in Hong Kong are so so so beautiful. I love the flowers that I wanted to bring them back.Haha.But it's impossible. Msia weather and HK weather are so much different. After that, we used the MTR to bring us to Wong Tai Sin temple. The nearest MTR station was actually Tsim Tsa Shui MTR station, but like I've said it was our first time, we used the Jordan MTR station which is not quite far actually. Through this trip, I've learnt a lot about the roads in Hong Kong, especially the ones in Kowloon and Tsim Tsa Shui. I've learnt the names of many roads like Kimberly Road where our hotel located at,Granville Road,Cameron Road,Carnavon Road,Mody Road,Salisbury Road and so on..And also from using the the MTR station,I've also learnt alot like how to use the MTR services, where to enter, where to go out, when to stop and so on...I've also know a few places where they would stop like Yau Ma Tei, Shek Kip Mei, and so on.There are also different lines you have to follow where you want to get to other places. And also one thing I've noticed in Hong Kong, when we are using the escalator, we must keep to the right so that there is one lane for the people to walk. It's systematic, isn't it? We then headed Jordan station and look for the sign to go to Wong Tai Sin.So, from Jordan station, we used the MTR to Yau Ma Tei station and change to MTR Kwun Tong line where we exchange railway line to go to Wong Tai Sin. As we reached Wong Tai Sin, OMG the "po po=granny" there are so scary.First it's only 2 po po surrounded us to buy the joss sticks and burning papers. So,me and sis buy and gave them about 70HK dollar for what we bought. Suddenly a huge bunch of ah po's come to us and forcing us to buy this and tht,the things which is for praying. We are quite short of money, mum asked us not to buy anymore and give the ah po back. The ah po terus beat mum's hand and said something like it's not good to treat ah po like that.God will punish and bla bla bla..We terus dumbfounded but we just buy and it terus costs us overall 90HK dollar. So, we quickly stopped buying and run away from the bunch of grannies.Sigh.We reached Wong Tai Sin temple but the things we bought from the grannies can't be brought into the temple. We have to leave all the stuff except that we can only bring the joss sticks for praying. God knows how my tears welled up my eyes when the smoke of the joss sticks got into my eyes.It was so suffering that I could hardly open my eyes. And the temple was so packed with people that I was always ended up sandwiched by strangers while praying. Sigh. Then after praying, we went to tour around the temple. The temple was big and beautiful. Then we went and took a few photos there. After Wong Tai Sin temple, we went to the Snoopy World which is located at 3/F Platform, Phase 1,New Town Plaza,
Shatin, Hong Kong . We took many pictures of the snoopy and there was one photo where I hugged the character statue also took photo at the psychiatric doc statue there.haha.Funny lar.Oh yeah.I've forgot to tell you something which is really important in Hong Kong, which is the octopus card.It was like your life card.Without it, you can't get to anywhere you want. However you can actually buy the card at any MTR station. After Snoopy World we headed for lunch in New Town Plaza.Again the rice I ordered is of a big plate. If I'm not mistaken, I was too full that I did not finished the rice. But I ate all the dishes.Lol. Then,we shopped around New Town Plaza where I went into a DVD shop. There I bought HIM. Haha. I saw the SS501 album. There are actually a varieties. But I only bought one, which costed me 119HK dollar. Besides, I've also bought Boys Over Flowers the Japanese version .I can't remember the price but sis bought another 2 DVD plus mine, all costed 55HK dollar. Then, I saw the Boys Before Flowers soundtrack as well as the F4 special edition. I've only bought F4 special edition for 119HK dollar. The BBF ost costed 199HK dollar.Sob.I should've buy it without thinking bout money.I'm sorry. After that, we went back to our hotel for a rest. After bathing and rest, about 6sth in the evening, we went out to go to Peak Tram. We used the MTR and walk all the way to the Peak Tram using maps.Yes,in Hong Kong, you can always use the public transport and MTRs.There's no need of driving using cars in Hong Kong. The MTRs and your legs are just more than enough. Going to the Peak Tram is nice.We have to buy the ticket and there will be a small train which will bring us to the the peak up there where you can actually see the night view of the Hong Kong. It was very high. The scenery there was so beautiful at night. But it's rather hard to catch the picture of the whole Hong Kong view at night using my lousy hp. Sis's camera could hardly take the night view as well.To get a nice shot, you would need a better camera.I saw the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in that place. But,sigh, sis said maybe need money. So, I just can look at people taking photos with the "Bruce Lee" .How I wish can enter there..Sob sob sob. After that,we walk around The Peak. After that,we headed to Mongkok for dinner. Hahaha. We went to the Master of Dim Sum restaurant to try Hong Kong dim sums. No doubt, Hong Kong's dim sums are really delicious, making you wanted for more. But they are really expensive.I love the fry radish flip pastry and the shrimp dim sum. Oh yeah, I just learnt that eating dim sums, esp those with soups in it, there's a technique. When I first ate the shrimp dim sum, all the soups spilled down my plate. My sis said from the way I eat, people would have know that I've never ate dim sum before. You must actually suck the soup frm the top then only you eat the fillings. Haha. If I'm not mistaken, we ordered 3 dim sum, 1 cold drunken chicken, fried rice and 2 more dishes,it costed about 300+++ HK dollar. Expensive isnt it? After dinner, we went to Ladies Market. There are a lot of stuff being sold. I'm so in love with the winter clothes and knitted clothes sold there. But I can't buy the whole market with me.Sigh.But I bought one knitted dress for 140HK dollar.Oops I've forgotten to bargain.Haha.Nevermind.After that, I've bought 2 skirts and a jacket for 100HK dollar. Cheap ler? Haha. I've also bought 2 dolls for 80HK dollar. At first, I asked the price for a doll. The woman told me 48HK dollar.Wow,so expensive I thought to myself. Then I bargained with her for 40HK dollar, she told me 45HKdollar. So tiring, so I asked how much she would offer if I buy two? She then finally gave me 80HK dollar. So,I bought it.Haha. So many lovely clothes there. Next time if I got money, for sure I'd shop in Hong Kong for clothes. It was like a paradise for a big spender like me.Lol. Oh yeah.I've forgot to tell you bout one funny incident while I'm on my way to MTR station this evening. I was mistaken by a cute, good looking guy as a Hong Kong resident. Lol.Do I look like any of them? Hehe. My mum laughed at me and him. Okay. It was like that. Actually, by evening,I've already known how to get to Tsim Tsa Shui station as we had came across there before. Maybe its because I was walking without using map and my dressing, while on the other hand my sis holding a map with her bagpack hanging behind her made her looked like a tourist.Hehe.That guy gave me a card(which when the shops are doing promotion or sth),and I took it and was about to walk away. The guy stopped me.I was shocked that I looked at him with an innocent look. But that guy flashed a friendly smile to me and asked me to turn the back of the card and scratch the thing so that I would win something. I turned around and asked sis if do I need to. Sis asked me to tell him that we are rushing to somewhere else. Haha. I guess that time only the guy realised that I was a tourist too. He then smiled sincerely to me and apologised. That time, when I read the card I only realised the contest was restricted to only Hong Kong residents. So, all the way returning to my hotel room, I can't help stop laughing. It was just so funny. But that guy was so cute especially his innocent face when he realised I'm a tourist. Kekeke. My mum then teased me that that guy mayb like me since he only asked me but not my sis and her. I was like...sweat.It was not a matter of liking me, but misunderstanding.Lol.So,after shopping, we then went back to hotel and sleep.
